Best Quirky Travel Gifts for Women

TUO by Origami Unicorn

Have you ever had troubles picking your favorite cosmetics, camera accessories, and other smaller items? I used to put it all on the side of my suitcase but as a result, I ended up losing a lot of small things. TUO by Origami Unicorn is a perfect solution for packing smaller stuff.

It’s a cute bag with 3 compartments and a strap to hang it anywhere, what makes thing simpler when it comes to unpacking. The product also contains an extra waterproof bag which is great!

Jewelry Organizer

Keeping your jewelry organized can be tough, especially when you travel. Particularly when it comes to earrings, many of us complain about them breaking in a suitcase.

This pretty little Travel Jewelry Case from Case Elegance is perfect for your next journey. It has room for earrings, rings, necklaces, and even bracelets. A super simple and compact design.

Shrimp Neck Pillow

Have you ever wanted to have a cool neck pillow for the place? If you’re a girl who likes cute items like I do, this would probably make you happy. It’s a giant shrimp! It looks as realistic as it could, and I guarantee that everyone will stare at you at the airport. With a smile.

If you’re looking for something less bulky, there’s also a foldable Trtl Pillow.

I recently discovered a genius idea which is pack towels. When I occasionally stay at hostels between different hotels I was always forgetting to pack a towel. A regular sized towel would also take a lot of space, but microfiber towel is tiny. They make great gifts for travelers.

Girly Go Garter

I never liked bringing my purse to a nightclub or any other event, but without a purse, there was no way I could hold my phone, ID, and money on me without pockets in my dress.

When I found out about the Girly Go Garter I had to have it! It’s a holder for basic belongings that you can keep on your thigh. It can be easily hidden or shown as it looks pretty.

Mobile Food Survival Kit

Not everyone likes, or has the money to, eat out all the time. But food cooked at hostels or private apartments can often be pretty tasteless due to the lack of spices. The Mobile Foodie Survival Kit is for the serious gourmand and is perfect for vacation rentals or even just cooking at another friend’s house. Need some oregano, paprika, and cumin on the go? Here it is.

Macaroon Headphones

These days many airlines charge for headphones, so frequent travelers tend to bring their own pair. And since I like quirky things I got myself a pair of pink headphone that look like a fresh Parisian macaroon.

Macaroon headphones work just fine for me, moreover, they’re super cute, because who doesn’t like macaroons…?

SolarPuff Light

Personally, I hate headlamps. I always end up loosing them and they seem uncomfortable to me. SolarPuff is an awesome origami foldable light that comes in different colors. It can be easily fit into a suitcase and expanded whenever you need it.

Giant Swan or Flamingo

You must have seen one of the giant floats on Instagram numerous times by now. If you’re looking for a travel gift for women, why don’t you get them a giant swan or giant flamingo?

Nothing can go wrong with a giant floaty. I’m sure they’d love it!

Lifestraw Bottle

LifeStraw is best known for its advanced filtering technology, which will get rid of 99.9% of waterborne protozoan parasites and bacteria. Whether you want to save some money on bottled water, or heading into the wilderness, Lifestraw bottle with the filter can save you.

And now it’s also available in pink! As girly as it sounds I like the pink version.

Scooter suitcase

I don’t know about you, but I’m almost always late for my flights. Being late combined with my special travel luck and being inspected almost every time, I often have to run to the gate.

When I found out about the Scooter suitcase I immediately knew that I need to get one. Imagine rolling quickly to your gate when you’re in a hurry.

Go Girl urination device

You might think this one is a bit weird, but don’t worry – that’s what I thought as well when I saw it for the first time. However, imagine going camping without having to squat!

It can also be useful in certain Asian bathrooms that are often just a hole in the ground.

Extended phone battery

It took me a while to be convinced to get this one, but after I did it often rescued me especially when traveling on buses. Staying connected online is going to use the battery of your phone extremely quickly.

This device can rescue your phone when you’re nowhere near a plug. You can also get it in a cute pink color.

Dry shampoo

Hairstyling while traveling can be annoying, especially with super dry hair like mine. This is when a dry shampoo comes in handy. It’s a hair powder that cleanses your hair and roots from oil. Nowadays you can even choose different fragrances, brands, etc.

Mini GorillaPod

Many solo female travelers are always curious how do I often take photos of myself when I travel solo. My secret is a tripod and a camera with timer / time-lapse option (more tips here).

Mini Gorillapod tripod is easily attachable to anything and you can carry it in your handbag.

Foot & hand warmers

These little things saved my life in NYC last winter. Seriously. After being shaken they warm up for up to 12h. I put them inside my gloves and they kept my fingers warm.

I highly recommend having a package of these when going skiing or during a cold winter. It’s an ideal travel gadget.

What else can you recommend me as travel gifts for women? Let me know about some more ideas in comments.

P.S. I know that some of these gifts can also be useful for men too (well, probably not the peeing device). But since I’m a female I’m no expert on best travel gifts for men.

I{d think at least half of these could be equally used by men..any reason why not?

    • Oct 26, 2015 / 9:34 pm

I guess that would be… but a peeer made it more woman-oriented 😉

  2. Oct 31, 2015 / 3:07 am

haha I have one of the go girls, and they are seriously the best when you’re out camping.. though they are kind of weird to get used to at the beginning. Have you tried a lot of different kinds of dry shampoo and did the dove one happen to be a favorite? I’ve only tried one, and I’m not sure what I think yet.

    • Oct 31, 2015 / 11:42 pm

I tried a few but I usually buy the first one available 🙂

That scarf sounds like a really handy thing to have! Always wake up with a sore neck in an airplane, since your head just goes to places it shouldn’t 😉

    • Nov 22, 2015 / 4:37 pm

Get her a few gifts 😉

  11. Nov 21, 2015 / 2:43 pm

I can see why a few of these would be useful for you, especially the GoGirl, And, I don’t have that particular battery extender, but any kind can be a life saver.

    • Feb 28, 2016 / 3:04 pm

      GoGirl is the best 😀

  12. Nov 21, 2015 / 4:52 pm

Oh, I’d love one of those suitcase scooters, just for something to do at the airport when I’m bored as well as when I’m late. So cool.

    • Nov 22, 2015 / 4:30 pm

Right? I need to get this one because I’m always late for my flight haha!

  15. Nov 22, 2015 / 9:10 pm

Some great things here but also some my husband would use but I would consider too girly for me! ha! Although I have been saying for months….after getting caught short many times, that i need some of those peeing spouts!

  16. Dec 22, 2015 / 7:48 am

That suitcase is such a fun idea! Not sure how well it would work in reality in a crowded airport, but would definitely be entertaining. 🙂

    • Dec 22, 2015 / 11:45 am

You can treat it as a video game – drive between people haha!

  17. Nov 21, 2016 / 11:17 am

Fab list! Lots of things that would make my life easier! Love the shrimp pillow too haha

    • Nov 21, 2016 / 4:17 pm

Shrimp pillow is my favorite… my boyfriend disagrees though 😛

  18. Nov 30, 2016 / 2:10 pm

Lots of fun and cheeky gifts … thanks for the ideas!

  19. Dec 10, 2016 / 7:45 pm

I love the design on the origami unicorn! Plus it looks super useful as well – all of my essentials always get lost in my backpack and I spend ages scrambling around to find my headphones etc.

    • Dec 12, 2016 / 4:13 am

      That’s my favorite accessory 🙂
